Position Summary: Oasys is seeking a Computer Network Architect to support the United States Coast Guard (USCG) at the Aviation Logistics Center (ALC)-Information Systems Division (ISD). The Computer Network Architect will design, implement, and secure enterprise network infrastructure in support of DevSecOps, Agile methodologies, and the USCG's 24/7 operational needs. This role is critical in maintaining connectivity, optimizing network performance, ensuring system availability, and meeting federal cybersecurity and compliance standards. Primary Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and resilient LAN/WAN/Cloud architectures to support ALC-ISD operational and platform technology environments.
- Evaluate and implement network and infrastructure solutions by DHS, DoD, and USCG policies, including STIGs and FedRAMP compliance.
- Integrate cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure) with on-premise systems, ensuring secure and optimized hybrid networking solutions.
- Perform system diagnostics and analyze root causes to resolve complex connectivity, bandwidth, and infrastructure issues.
- Manage IP address space, subnets, routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF), VPNs, firewalls, and network segmentation for secure enclaves and mission-critical systems.
- Support continuous monitoring, vulnerability scanning, and remediation of network assets as directed by ISSOs and ATO compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with Cybersecurity, Configuration Management, and Operations teams to design secure architectures for classified and unclassified environments.
- Maintain system availability through proper configuration and support of SAN, PIT/OT infrastructure, and failover/redundancy mechanisms.
- Provide lifecycle support for networking equipment, including requirements analysis, design documentation, installation, patching, maintenance, and decommissioning.
- Support 24/7 operational readiness, including on-call troubleshooting, after-hours maintenance, and system upgrades or outage support.
- Document network diagrams, configurations, SOPs, and technical reports to support audits, disaster recovery, and system accreditation.
- Provide training and tier-3 support to helpdesk personnel and end users on network-related tools and procedures.
- All other duties as assigned by management.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Advanced knowledge of network protocols, topologies, and security frameworks.
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting enterprise-level routers, switches, firewalls, and network monitoring tools.
- Experience with telecommunications systems, VPN, VoIP, and video conferencing network integration.
- Familiarity with FedRAMP, RMF, NIST 800-53, DHS 4300A policies, and cybersecurity control implementation.
- Working knowledge of cloud networking in AWS and Azure.
- Familiarity with ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow or Remedy.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and project coordination skills.
- Ability to manage and secure large enterprise environments with mission-critical uptime requirements.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Computer Science, Math, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field. Two (2) years of directly relevant experience may substitute for one (1) year of formal education.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience planning and designing data communication networks.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience performing security remediation to systems with vulnerabilities based on security scans.
- At least one (1) year of experience in an Agile DevSecOps software and engineering environment and Methodologies.
- At least one (1) year of experience with Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket.
- At least one (1) year of experience supporting infrastructure in a federal or DoD environment.
Clearance:
- U.S. citizenship required
- Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance.
Certification Requirement
- CompTIA Security+
- Additional certifications (Network+, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, ITIL Foundation, Cisco CCNA/CCNP) are a plus.
