PURPOSE OF POSITION: The Payroll Specialist is responsible for managing resort-wide timekeeping processes, supporting bi-weekly payroll operations, and handling employment verifications and reporting. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a dedication to providing outstanding internal customer service.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Timekeeping

  • Monitor daily employee time records and process punch corrections
  • Ensure accuracy of timesheets and make appropriate correcting entries with backup documentation
  • Collaborate with supervisors and managers to resolve timekeeping errors
  • Run reports to validate data integrity and approve time for payroll submission


Payroll

  • Assist with all aspects of the bi-weekly payroll processing
  • Verify deduction amounts and tip reporting accuracy
  • Prepare on demand manual checks when needed, ensuring all wages and deductions are included
  • Distribute checks and pay cards
  • Communicate payroll processes and policies clearly to staff and managers
  • Maintain payroll records and manage secure document storage


Verifications and Reporting

  • Respond to employment verification requests and wage claims
  • Assure that all federal/state reporting requirements are met
  • Manage Department of Workforce Services (DWS) claims and biweekly new hire reporting
  • Support external audits and provide documentation as needed
  • Calculate annual Allocated Tip reports
  • Assist in preparing information for subpoenas and legal requests


General Duties

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for timekeeping and payroll systems
  • Troubleshoot problems/errors and provide solutions as they arise
  • Train and support managers and supervisors on timekeeping & scheduling processes, payroll, and HR procedures
  • Provide accurate and timely information to staff upon request
  • Support HR team responsibilities and provide coverage when needed
  • Complete additional tasks or projects as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficient in a variety of software platforms with the ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Familiarity with Workday, Office 365, Freshservice (or similar ticketing platforms) preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexible scheduling options - holidays and weekends will be included
  • Able to interact effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all information of personnel


PAY RATE:

  • Pay: $60,000-$65,000
