MIDDLEBURY, IN

Full-Time Onsite

POSITION SUMMARY: The Production Supervisor oversees daily manufacturing operations to ensure production goals are met safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality standards and company policies. This role involves leading and supporting a team of production employees, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential to succeed in this role.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

* Lead and Manage Department Operations:

o Direct daily production activities to ensure output aligns with customer requirements, production schedules, and LEAN manufacturing principles.

o Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.

o Develop and maintain a cross-training plan within the department to improve workforce flexibility, reduce bottlenecks, and enhance overall team capability.

o Participate in or lead departmental and cross-functional initiatives aimed at improving business processes, product quality, and customer satisfaction. Provide insights and recommendations for strategic improvements.

* Ensure Quality Standards:

o Monitor production output to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.

o Investigate and resolve issues with non-conforming materials, leading root cause analyses and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

* Supervise and Support Team Members:

o Assign work responsibilities to production employees, ensuring proper staffing and workload balance.

o Provide necessary training, tools, and guidance to ensure employees are equipped to perform their tasks safely and effectively.

* Drive Employee Performance and Engagement:

o Monitor and manage employee performance, conduct regular feedback sessions, and support development plans.

o Foster a positive work environment by maintaining strong employee relations, promoting high morale, and addressing performance or compliance issues in a timely and constructive manner.

* Promote a Culture of Safety:

o Ensure all work is performed in compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies.

o Proactively identify safety risks, ensure proper maintenance of equipment, and promote a culture of accountability around workplace safety.

o Promote collaboration, accountability, and a strong sense of ownership among team members to support organizational goals and a high-performance culture.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

* Previous leadership experience with a minimum of 3-5 years' experience
working in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of bus manufacturing
or transit industry would be considered an asset.

* Excellent verbal and written communication.

* Excellent self-manager, with demonstrated ability to succeed as part of a team.

* Commitment to Safety and dealing with progressive discipline issues in a constructive fashion

* Good computer skills with focus on MS Office.
Physical & Workplace Requirements:

* Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. regularly, perform repetitive movements (bending, kneeling, crouching), and work on elevated surfaces or confined spaces.

* Must be able to stand and walk on hard surfaces for extended periods (up to 8+ hours).

* Requires visual acuity to read diagnostics and inspect components

* Comfortable working in varying environmental conditions, including noise, dust, fumes, and temperature fluctuations, while wearing PPE (safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed boots, and relevant HV PPE).

* Strong safety awareness and adherence to workplace procedures.

Hourly Wage Rate: $19.50 with increase at 90 days

Standard Hours: Full-time hourly position, and hours/days of work are decided by production schedule and reporting manager.
