Summary

Summary:
The Emergency Department Technician - ED Tech role assists the healthcare team in organizing and implementing basic department activities such as stocking, results retrieval and patient tracking. Under the guidance of the physician/advanced practice practitioner, this role will perform patient care such as vital signs, pulse oximetry, EKG, phlebotomy and other simple procedures.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: High School graduate or GED preferred. Training as an EMT or CNA preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: Current BLS required or must obtain within six months of hire.
  3. Experience: EMT, CNA or Technician experience preferred. If experience is not attained, current enrollment in a healthcare field of study may be required. One year of experience working in a healthcare setting preferred.
  4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: N/A
  5. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: Basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology.
