Hourly Pay Range:

$28.47 - $42.71 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

  • Location: Skokie, IL
  • Full Time/Part Time: Full Time
  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:45am-7pm, Saturday 7:45am-1pm
  • Required Travel: Travel based upon dept need

A Brief Overview:
As the Ophthalmic Technician Lead, you will oversee the daily operations of the ophthalmic technician team, coordinating patient care, and assisting in training and development. You will work closely with ophthalmologists and other eye care professionals to maintain a high standard of care and enhance the patient experience.

What you will do:

  • Providing leadership and supervision to the ophthalmic technician team, including scheduling, performance evaluations, and mentoring to ensure a cohesive and effective team.
  • Coordinating and prioritizing patient care activities, ensuring smooth and efficient patient flow within the clinic.
  • Performing advanced ophthalmic technician duties, including complex diagnostic tests, specialized procedures, and patient assessments as needed.
  • Assisting in the training and onboarding of new ophthalmic technicians, ensuring that they are proficient in all required skills and protocols.
  • Monitoring the quality of patient care, maintain adherence to standards and protocols, and implement quality improvement initiatives.
  • Educating patients on eye care procedures, pre-operative and post-operative instructions, and the proper use and care of contact lenses or eyeglasses.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting assessments, test results, and treatment plans in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Ensuring proper maintenance and calibration of ophthalmic equipment, coordinating with the appropriate departments for repairs or replacements.
  • Collaborating effectively with ophthalmologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive eye care services.

  • Diploma or Vocational Degree General Studies Required Or
  • High School General Studies Required
