Job Description |
The Salvation Army - 2718 S. Memorial Dr. - is currently a Federal Work-Study student to serve as a Social Media and Communications Assistant.
The ideal candidate for this position would be a person who would immerse themselves in awareness of the program operations, which serve our community needs and trends to develop an effective short- and long-range communication strategy to ensure that The Salvation Army maintains a favorable and positive image in our community primarily through social media.
Candidate would work closely with the commanding officers of The Greenville, NC Salvation Army to prepare internal & external social media marketing materials for the Pitt County area.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Preparation of a marketing calendar, brand compliance, electronic/social media communications, preparation of electronic and printed marketing messages on external platforms, including ad placements and trades.
- Serve as one of the leads in all aspects of the Greenville, NC Salvation Army for texting and website information, for local stories both written and video, pictures, all for a positive image of the organization.
- Help the commanding officers to develops & implement project a management process that ensures timely development to publish internally and externally a marketing strategy for programs and the local Salvation public image.

Education and Experience:
- Student to have or be working towards a bachelor's degree in public relations, Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, or a related field.
- Student shows number of months or years with progressive responsibility and experience performance in marketing and PR, journalism, writing and or editing functions.
- Student should have familiarity and experience in social media management and metrics OR
- Student should have any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
