Job Description Summary We are seeking a highly motivated scientist with expertise in echocardiography to join our in vivo pharmacology team in the Cardiovascular and Metabolic (CVM) Disease Area at the Novartis BioMedical Research (BR) facility in Cambridge, MA. Cardiometabolic disease is the leading cause of death globally, claiming approximately 17.9 million lives annually. Our team is committed to developing innovative medicines to address this critical health issue. We design, develop, validate, and utilize pharmacological tools to assess the efficacy and safety of new cardiometabolic drug candidates.As an experienced and skilled lab-based echocardiographer, you will work both independently and collaboratively in an interdisciplinary setting to conduct experiments in preclinical models of cardiovascular disease. You will perform multi-mode echocardiography, including strain by speckle tracking and Doppler imaging, to assess heart systolic and diastolic function. You will collect, analyze, and interpret echo images, and report cardiac structural and functional data in both written study reports and team meetings. You will support drug discovery for heart failure and arrhythmia therapeutics by participating in pharmacodynamic/pharmacokinetic (PK/PD) and efficacy studies, while expanding your knowledge in the field of non-invasive imaging. #LI-Onsite This position will be located at Cambridge, MA and will not have the ability to be located remotely. Novartis Compensation and Benefit Summary: The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $103,600 and $192,400/year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/25 through 12/31/25, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
