Senior Marketing Specialist Medicare Member Retention

Job Summary

This role is responsible for leading the development and execution of strategic marketing and communication initiatives aimed at retaining and engaging Medicare members. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of the Medicare landscape and a deep commitment to improving the member experience through education, personalized outreach, and high-impact marketing.

This individual will play a key role in helping Medicare members understand their plan benefits, stay informed through key moments in the plan year, such as the Annual Enrollment Period and Open Enrollment Period, and foster long-term loyalty. The Senior Marketing Specialist will lead multi-channel retention efforts; including print, email, digital, and one to one touchpoints, designed to support member satisfaction, engagement, and renewal.

Success in this role requires a balance of strategic thinking, attention to compliance, especially CMS guidelines, and hands-on execution.

Essential Functions
  • Drive the creation of retention strategies to improve Medicare member experience and renewal rates, particularly during key periods like Annual Enrollment Period, Open Enrollment Period, and Special Enrollment Period.

  • Develop clear, concise messaging to explain complex plan information in a way that's easy for members to understand and act upon.

  • Coordinate the execution of multi-tactic marketing campaigns, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and effectiveness.

  • Anticipate member pain points and proactively develop communications to address concerns and reduce voluntary disenrollment.

  • Translate data and feedback into actionable improvements for messaging, targeting, and tactics.

  • Support reporting, documentation, and presentations that track campaign performance and drive continuous optimization.

  • Lead the development and execution of Medicare retention campaigns, with a focus on plan engagement, benefit education, and member loyalty.

  • Design and implement communications that support ongoing education and renewal.

  • Collaborate closely with teams across the organization, Medicare product, compliance, customer service, population health, etc., to ensure alignment and accuracy.

  • Serve as the point of contact for assigned projects, managing creative development, production timelines, and stakeholder input.

  • Ensure all campaigns meet CMS marketing guidelines and internal compliance standards.

  • Use insights from member surveys, behavior, and reporting tools to refine messaging and increase campaign effectiveness.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, related field or equivalent

  • 5 years of relevant experience in marketing or related role

  • Project management skills with proven, demonstrated experience in building, executing, and measuring large-scale, cross-functional projects and strategies

  • Strong cross-functional communications skills with the ability to navigate complex challenges and resolve conflicts internally and externally

  • Ability to measure and report on campaigns for continuous improvement and ROI

Preferred

  • 7 years in marketing or related position preferred.

  • Relevant experience in project management preferred.

  • Relevant experience in marketing or related role preferred
