Senior Manager, Sales Order Management Applications

Enabling functions may operate as a center-led global team, providing a central strategy, structure, and standards; or as business partner teams, with resources embedded within the businesses to deliver business unit-specific results.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Leadership



  • Lead a team of internal and external IT experts responsible for a portfolio of client relationships, related projects and overall technology point of contact for the senior business leaders.
  • Execute and manage activities and initiatives aligned with our roadmap and overall business objectives. Accountable for managing any delivery related escalations.
  • Required to have a broad-based view of IT activities and how they can help achieve the business goals.
  • Develop roadmaps (with the business leaders and our Enterprise Architects) that integrate business and IT capabilities together in a way that aids stakeholders in visualizing future business outcomes and making better-informed investment decisions.
  • Serve as Application Owner for a portion of the applications portfolio.


Business Relationship Management



  • Responsible for Business Relationship Management with assigned customer group, including knowing the Business Strategy and proactively providing advice and consult on aligned IT solutions. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the business leadership for assigned functions that result in a high degree of alignment between IT and the business while also making it easy to do business with IT.
  • Manage portfolio as Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for assigned Business Leadership members. Responsible for the portfolio view of requests, in-progress and to-be-staffed initiatives. This includes portfolios with sub-programs and projects.
  • Facilitate clear and effective communication between IT and business stakeholders. Prepare regular reports and presentations on IT initiatives, project status, and performance metrics.
  • Work closely with business units to elicit, shape, document, and prioritize business strategy requirements. Facilitate the intake, prioritization, and transfer of the business strategy requirements to the appropriate IT teams who will translate them into clear and actionable business and technical specifications that can be used by the IT team for solution development.
  • Identify and mitigate IT-related risks that may impact business operations. Stay up to date on industry trends, regulations, and security standards to ensure compliance and data protection.
  • Be proactive and forward-thinking regarding changes in the external environment and organizational needs to ensure that the business can adapt and thrive in a rapidly changing landscape.


Delivery



  • Present ideas, solicit input, evaluate risk, and garner support of senior level executives and/or initiative stakeholders
  • Deliver solutions that meet functional requirements and delivery schedules, within cost projections, that are of high quality and enable business outcomes
  • Establish, participate in and help govern Project Steering Committees
  • Prepare and present technical solution recommendations, status updates, and business value propositions to the highest levels of business and leadership
  • Identify deviations from expected results and other disruptions and promptly lead team to issue resolution
  • Conduct and / or oversee project post completion audits (including lessons learned)


Forecasting and Management of Staff



  • Develops a staffing plan that meets both customer expectations and financial constraints
  • Leverages vendor relationships to scale capabilities and capacity to meet business needs
  • Provides ongoing recognition, feedback and development, holding employees accountable for success.
  • Foresees future business implications based on quantitative and qualitative information
  • Plan for application retirement as part of the application life cycle management, and internal SLAs

Education and Experience Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in IT with a focus on sales order management applications, ideally within the CPG industry, including some of the following: IT solution delivery, IT Business Partnership, Application Development or Architecture that includes direct interaction with business leadership.
  • Deep understanding of CPG-specific sales order management processes, including Sales Order Management operations - end to end processes, preferably expertise in transportation, manufacturing, and planning).
  • Experience in a manufacturing organization
  • Strong leadership skills, with a history of successfully managing IT teams and complex projects.
  • Major ERP experience required; SAP experience required, especially on S/4 HANA
  • Experience interacting with senior leadership
  • Product Life Cycle Management systems and / or processes is desired

  • Ability to distinguish between technical and process problems and/or solutions
  • Understanding of integration points with various system tools

  • Experience preparing and delivering presentation materials to business leaders
  • Experience interfacing with and providing oversight of consulting resources


  • Effectively work and lead both technical and businesspeople when resolving business issues
  • Ability to identify how technology can be used to improve business outcomes
  • Ability to collaborate with employees and leaders to deliver a solution that meets the needs of the business.
  • Knowledge of CPG industry and business framework is helpful.

Work Environment

  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
  • This is a hybrid position with in-office days of Tuesday-Friday.
  • Travel up to 15% may be required for business activities.
