Ballard Spahr is seeking a Knowledge Management Manager who is responsible for facilitating knowledge management (KM) initiatives across the firm, catering to both lawyers and business professionals. This position involves conducting assessments of current business and technical processes, identifying interdependencies and redundancies, process mapping/diagramming, and suggesting process improvement protocols. Additionally, the Knowledge Management Manager is pivotal in creating and procuring KM tools and establishing processes for capturing and disseminating the firm's collective knowledge.

This is a remote position with the flexibility to be on-site periodically as needed if located in close proximity to a Ballard office.

Your Role:

As a Knowledge Management Manager within our Information Technology team, your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading and managing KM projects and initiatives to support the firm's strategic goals

  • Collaborating with lawyers and business professionals to identify KM needs and opportunities

  • Analyzing assessment results to identify areas for process improvement

  • Developing and implementing KM strategies to enhance knowledge sharing and collaboration

  • Assisting in the ongoing development and execution of the firm's KM program

  • Creating or procuring KM tools and technologies to locate precedent and go-by documents

  • Working closely with the Director of Knowledge Management to align KM initiatives with firm objectives

  • Providing training and support to lawyers and business professionals on KM tools and best practices

  • Monitoring the effectiveness of KM initiatives and processes

  • Implementing quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of KM tools and the underlying data, information, and documents

  • Preparing and presenting reports on KM activities, progress, and outcomes to senior management

Required Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Library Science, Business Administration, or a related field. An advanced degree or professional certification in Knowledge Management is a plus. Minimum of 5 years of experience in knowledge management, process improvement, or a related role within the legal industry. A proficiency in knowledge management (KM) tools and technologies with a proven track record of successfully managing knowledge management (KM) initiatives and projects.

The salary range for this position is from $107,000 to $130,000, depending upon experience and location.
