Overview Assist Controller in directing the financial activities of the hotel, safeguarding the assets, and preparing all financial reports in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and HEI Hotels and Resorts Standards. Primary Responsibilities include Income Auditor and Weekly payroll processing. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Sort and verify accuracy of Night Audit work (primarily receivables aspect), i.e. including reconciliation of banquet check extensions, coding of banquets at cost, review and route sales and promotion checks with back-up. Record department administration phone calls and inform Controller of any potential concern. Timely and accurate preparation of the Daily Revenue Report. Input General Cashier Summary. Oversees review of adjustments, paid-outs and miscellaneous charges to ensure appropriateness and conformity to established procedure, initiates correction where necessary, reports deviations to management. Verifying the balancing and processing of credit card settlements following up on discrepancies. Daily tax reconciliation. Prepare and distribute daily and monthly management reports. Responds to guest inquiries and credit card chargebacks. Responsible for the preparation and processing of weekly payroll; review and ensure accuracy of approved timesheets; track and deduct all garnishments and other special payroll deductions. Support Department Managers to ensure timely and accurate submission of payroll each week. Lead weekly labor review meeting with Department Managers. Review and approve Quarterly/Annual Payroll reports. Provide training to new managers on the payroll process. Analyzes existing processes and implements efficiencies when possible. Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis. Perform any other job related duties as assigned. Qualifications and Skills Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree in Accounting preferred. Accounting and Hotel experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to compile facts and figures. Ability to operate personal computer and calculator. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, public etc. Compensation* Salary Range: $26.55 - $29.50 Tipped/Service Charge Eligible?
