TITLE: CONVERTING OPERATOR A POSITION OBJECTIVE: Produce the highest quality product meeting the customer's specification through safe operation of the assigned equipment. QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED equivalency
- Prefer previous experience with the operation of electric pallet jack and manufacturing environment.
- Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
- Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accurately maintain scrap produced (weigh and tag when taken from production areas)
- Demonstrate the ability to operate machinery at maximum output while achieving top quality product
- Must complete all paperwork with accuracy and in a timely manner
- Perform basic visual and physical quality inspection for finishing product
- Perform basic troubleshooting for quality and machine shutdown
- Perform job changing based on work instruction (printing plate, size, quantity etc.)
- Move finished goods, gaylords, operation supplies to and from storage and production areas by hand or using manual electric pallet trucks
- Maintain a clean and neat work area in the production area, scrap areas, finishing goods storage areas, and box area
- Perform daily housekeeping tasks to remove trash, dirt, scrap, and plastic pellets from the production floor
- Empty trash dumpsters and designated broken pallet areas daily
- Must ensure that General Manufacturing policies are being followed
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing effective manufacturing
- Knowledge of proper operation of all machinery
- Abide by all Inteplast IBS safety policies and procedures
- Any others duties or responsibilities as determined by Plant Manager that would fall within the normal job requirements
JOB SPECIFIC SKILLS:
- Basic mathematical skills required: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Ability to accurately count and record all types of materials - finished goods, operation supplies, roll stock, and scrap
- Good written and verbal skills
- Must be able to read and write in English
- Must be able to operate machinery and pass a safety test
WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:
- Ability to work in an environment that is extremely hot, and humid in the summer months, and cold in the winter months.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:
- Ability to quickly move your hand, your hands together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, lift, manipulate or assemble objects frequently.
- Ability to exert muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 50 lbs frequently.
- Ability to stand and change positions frequently over an eight-hour period.
- Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs frequently.
- Ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles repeatedly or continuously to lift objects up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to quickly respond (with the hand, finger, or foot) to a signal (sound, light, picture) when it appears.
