BID/JOB ANNOUNCEMENT ADMINISTRATIVE SERVIES OFFICER I CHICAGO DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH Administrative and Operations Bureau Number of Positions: 2 Starting Salary: $66,612 This position is open to the public and all current City employees covered under the City's collective bargaining agreement with AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY, AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES (AFSCME) - BARGAINING UNIT 1, 3, 4 & 5. Select your correct bargaining unit FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS WILL RESULT IN A REJECTED BID APPLICATION Applications for this position will be accepted until 11:59pm on 5/29/2025 ESSENTIAL DUTIES Utilize the City's HRIS to process HR-related transactions, ensure all employee records are up-to-date, and generate reports related to timekeeping and payroll transactions. Coordinate hiring, interview process, on-boarding and off-boarding of CDPH candidates/employees. Process and prepare payroll to ensure active and/or retired employees are compensated correctly. Audit employee time and attendance to ensure accuracy. Work with the Comptroller's Office regarding payroll policies and procedures. Process special payroll supplements. (v-rolls, Z-rolls, etc.) Administer all employee leave of absence programs (fmla, military, personal business, personal disability), review and process leave requests, supporting documentations, forms and letters to determine eligibility. Update CDPH's leave tracker with leave of absence statuses. serve as primary contact for all leave requests. Additional duties may be required for this position. Location: 111 W. Washington St., Chicago IL 60602 Days: Monday - Friday Hours: 8:30am to 4:30pm THIS POSITION IS IN THE CAREER SERVICE Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * Five (5) years of professional work experience in human resources, OR * Graduation from an accredited college with an Associate's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Public Administration or a directly related field, plus three (3) years of professional work experience in human resources, OR * Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree, Master's degree, or Doctorate in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Public Administration or a directly related field, plus one (1) year of professional work experience in human resources. SELECTION REQUIREMENTS This position requires applicants to complete an interview. The interviewed candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, based on the oral part of the interview will be selected.
