ETL Developer

Peraton is seeking an ETL Developer would be better) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will become a part of Peraton's Citizen Security & Public Services Sector, supporting Securities and Exchange Commission OCDO-Office of the Chief Officer data engineering group.

Role and Responsibilities:

Data Engineering activities to ingest datasets, develop processes to transform data, deploy code in AWS, store data in AWS Glue Catalog in Iceberg format, maintain ETL processes/schedules.
• Support Software Development lifecycle, spanning from Design, development, deployment to maintaining data pipelines.
• Provide support to development efforts by performing peer reviews, comprehensive testing, and through code validation prior to migrating code across environment.
• Ingestion of massive data into AWS Cloud datalake in ICEBERG format.
• Process development with GitHub CICD process to deploy code, rollback code, validate deployment.
• Develop and document designs and processes with clear and concise technical data models, architecture and data workflow diagrams, design documents, and deployment documents.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience. An additional 4 years of experience will be accepted in lieu of the degree.
• Minimum of 5 years of IT experience with demonstrated hands-on expertise in AWS environment.
• Working knowledge of AWS applications such as CloudWatch, CloudFormation and Lambda.
• Development experience using Python scripting.
• Familiar with source code, version control in Git, managing Git branches, merging, and rebasing concepts.
• Familiar with data modelling.
• Experience with GitHub.
• US. citizenship is required
• Ability to obtain/maintain a U.S government agency level clearance (SEC) agency.

Preferred Qualifications:

• ETL development with Glue ETL, Python, Pyspark, RDS.
• Experience with database and data warehouse development.
• Data modelling techniques include dimensional modelling (star schema and snowflake schema).
• Experience in ingestion of massive data using cloud technologies, such as AWS Glue ETL, Databricks, PySpark.
• AWS cloud development skills, including Glue, Lambda, Boto3, IAM, CICD.
• Experience with networking within the AWS environment a plus.
• AWS certification or Python certification is preferred.
