Key Responsibilities:

• Work alongside experienced engineers to design, test, and optimize PySpark and SparkSQL scripts
• Assist in building and maintaining scalable data pipelines and workflows.
• Participate in code reviews, ensuring high-quality standards and best practices.
• Document processes and contribute to technical documentation for improved efficiency.

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related field (3rd year or above preferred).
• Basic knowledge of Spark or other distributed computing frameworks.
• Basic understanding of data modeling, schema design and optimization techniques.
• Understanding of Git version control and CI/CD tools such as Github Action a plus.
• Exposure to Software Development Life Cycle a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Duration:

• This internship will run for five consecutive weeks, starting as soon as June 2^nd. This accounts for time off for company holidays.

Location:

• This internship requires you to work on-site at the GATX offices in the Willis Tower five days per week.
