FTE: .5 Shift: TBD , Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am - 4 pm Position Summary Mary Bridge Children's Hospital is seeking a Medical Director, Child Abuse and Intervention. The Medical Director Child Abuse and Intervention will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including nurse practitioners, social workers, and other child abuse experts to educate, develop and lead a team who will deliver timely, high-quality consultations and support in child abuse assessment. As a skilled and compassionate Child Abuse Physician, the Medical Director will lead in the guidance of cases involving suspected child abuse.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert consultation to healthcare providers, social services and law enforcement on cases of suspected child abuse and neglect
- Review medical records, imaging, and other relevant documentation to assess cases and provide guidance on next steps in child abuse evaluations
- Mentor Child Abuse Nurse Practitioners
- Develops and supports education initiatives for healthcare providers within our network to improve early identification, documentation, and management of suspected child abuse cases.
- Proactively work with physicians and administration to develop, implement and monitor cost savings initiatives
- Participates in such Hospital and Medical Staff Committees as are necessary to carry out the duties as Medical Director, including relevant collaborative meetings, relevant combined operations meetings, relevant Pediatric sub-committees.
- Actively leads in the development, maintenance and periodic review of policies, procedures and protocols within the subspecialty
- Facilitates communication concerning the clinical work, metrics and performance improvement activities and drives collaboration with administrative leaders
- Leads in quality improvement initiatives within CAID
- Collaborate with community partners
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited medical school (MD/DO)
- Board certification in Pediatrics and subspecialty training in Child Abuse Pediatrics preferred
- Licensed to practice medicine in Washington State as a Physician
- Experience in Child Abuse pediatrics with strong knowledge of child protection protocols, trauma informed care, and related legal processes
