Accounting Analyst - Hybrid

We are working with a long-standing stable company that is looking to add to the team with a background in accounting and aptitude for systems for data analysis.This is a key role responsible for the accounting, validation, reconciliation, and analysis of financial and loan-related data, and will contribute significantly to key reporting deliverables.Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Senior Accounting Manager to review loan documents prior to closing, ensuring fees and costs are booked in accordance with US GAAP.

  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses on loan transactions using a variety of data analytics tools to ensure accurate financial treatment.

  • Partner with business lines to provide timely, accurate financial information based on changing business needs.

  • Assist with monthly accounting close by preparing various analyses and journal entries with verified documentation.

  • Reconcile balance sheet and statistical accounts on daily and monthly schedules.

  • Generate standard and custom analytical reports for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Participate in projects aimed at improving operational efficiency and reporting capabilities.

  • Support internal and external audits through clear documentation and communication.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 2+ years of relevant experience; loan accounting experience strongly preferred

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel

  • Experience with data analysis tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, etc.)

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and written/verbal communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus

This position is eligible to accommodate a hybrid work schedule after training and required work in the Birmingham office.

Salary expectations are $65-75K depending on the candidate's background and relevant skillset for the position.
