VS (Vehicle component Solutions) Company (https://www.lg.com/global/mobility) of LG Electronics focuses on commercializing environmentally responsible automotive components and core solutions based on LG's proprietary technologies. A leading provider of core components for global car manufacturers, VS Company is supporting the emerging trend of the vehicle industry.

This job requires technical experiences related to building cutting-edge product and Development experiences. This position needs to have comfortable working with the manufacturing industry as well as high technology-driven products with LG and customers. This role is focused on developing a project and deeply involving technical requirements in the development as well as issue resolving. Customer & Tier companies communication and development management to ensure strength and innovation in the LG automotive business. This role is directly influencing the integration project development across all LG and automotive manufactures and requires a confidant with identifying problems, communicating the concerns and driving for closure in order to deliver the best development quality within the time frame with build trust while demonstrating excellent features implementation and problem resolving skills. This role must play nice with others, have a humble service mindset, and be a results-driven self-motivator.

As the Development Engineer II, you will:



  • Resolve software issues and communicate the customer to handle the issues
  • Manage OEM customer design request, solution
  • Support to identify and manage all feature issues, publish a weekly report
  • Collaborate with OEM & LGE developers to analyze requirements and implement features
  • Communicate with LGE HQ cross-functional teams not limited to program
  • Conduct testing and debugging to ensure software quality
  • Release weekly development progress report and communicate with customer's engineers
  • Support feature development and be main point of contact for customer communication
  • Review with the Software Project Leader for deciding related function development (Issue analysis result, Feature specification, Development schedule, FMEA, Impact of quailty, etc)
  • Follow the customer's acceptance process on top of the LG internal development process
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electric Engineering, or a related field
  • 2+ years or equivalent experience in automotive component development or testing

    • or, 5+ years or equivalent engineering experience with developing and/or testing an automotive component
    • or, 8+ years or equivalent experience delivering high-quality products or services to automotive companies


  • Knowledge of or Experience in:

    • Vehicle Infotainment feature & Telematics and Vehicle interface technology products
    • Software development skill (CS design process including C, C++, Cinemo, XML, HMI, CAN network, embedded system)
    • Working across multiple disciplines (Bluetooth, WiFi, OTA, Vehicle Network, Mobile Network, testing)
    • Appropriate MS office software applications
    • Desire to learn constantly and dive into new areas with unfamiliar technologies.
    • Test bench and vehicle setup


  • Ability to:


    • Drive and/or test in a vehicle for 8 hours a day.
    • Lift up to 30lb samples, box and tools.
    • Lift/carry benches weighing up to 25lbs to setup workstation
    • Sit while driving/testing the vehicles for up to 4 hours at a time
    • Interact with display/center controller/steering wheel while driving or while stationary testing
    • Work overtime when necessary

Preferred:



  • Knowledge of or Experience in:


    • Vehicle Infotainment & Telematics feature and Vehicle interface technology products
    • Software development skill with complex systems
    • IATF 16949 certification & APQP&FMEA certification


  • Bilingual - (English/Korean)
