Medical Laboratory Scientist - Pathology
Baltimore, MD Pay From: $31 per hour MUST: 5+ years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist - Pathology Must have Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, basic sciences or related fields Must have completed NACCLS accredited clinical rotation or at least 1 year of clinical lab experience in an accredited hospital or lab settings. Must be eligible for certification by a nationally recognized program, e.g. ASCP or equivalent (American Society for Clinical Pathology) Must be certified within 12 months of employment Experience in Chemistry, Hematology, and Molecular is strongly preferred Experience working in a laboratory, processing specimens following CLIA regulations Education equivalent to an associate degree in a laboratory science, or medical laboratory technology that includes at least 60 semester hours from an accredited institution DUTIES: Perform ordered tests on samples provided to the laboratory following established CLIA regulations and procedures Participate in regular proficiency testing Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either correct the problems or immediately notify the general supervisor Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications Assist in performing validation and bridging studies as directed by the Laboratory Director Maintain confidentiality of test results Monitor supplies to ensure adequate levels are maintained to meet testing demand Assist in preparing for and participating in regulatory inspections of the laboratory Assist in development and regular review of standard operation procedures Other duties as assigned related to the performance of high complexity testing Quadrant is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer.
