Job Description The Lead Product Manager is a global role that is responsible for the Low Voltage Standard Drives Portfolio at Rockwell Automation. Key leadership responsibilities to support this portfolio includes: product launches, strategic planning, customer product alignment, pricing, negotiations, forecasting, business promotion, competitive analysis, and product lifecycle management. You will lead a team of product specialists and oversee the execution on specific product areas such as quality, delivery, customer satisfaction, and productivity. There will be direct customer interaction to support customer engagements globally. As the Product Manager you will also provide the short-term and long-term strategic direction and how it aligns with Development, Operations and Engineering service partners. You will report to the Business Manager of Architecture Drives. Your Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strategic planning for Standard Drives New Product Introductions through a BSR (Business Strategy Review) process.
- Manage the profit and loss and financial goals of the product portfolio to meet annual operating financial metrics.
- Ownership of business unit customer relationships and assist Rockwell Sales Account Managers and Distributor partners with pro-actively addressing customer inquiries and issues.
- End-to-end ownership and responses for new product development, product enhancements or customer/sales inquiries.
- Direct the actions of Engineering, Quality, Technical Support, Manufacturing, Sales and Operations partners.
- You will have several geographically distributed direct reports and require operating through cross functional teams in a dynamic, matrix-style organization.
- Apply market, customer, industry, application, and technical knowledge to assist in preparing product development specifications with features, price, cost, and reliability objectives for product development projects.
- Oversee the execution of product quality field issue resolution, in collaboration with Rockwell Sales, Quality and Remote/Field Technical Support teams. Role will have ownership of the messaging to the customer.
- Provide Product Management leadership to the Development Engineering team for product quality improvements, cost reductions, parts obsolescence, and to meet evolving standards and customer requested product changes and enhancements.
- Work with the Product Quality Leads in support of quality resolution, improvement actions and customer responses.
- Partner and collaborate with Operations and Customer Care to prioritize backlog to help meet customer on time delivery expectations.
- Develop and manage commercial programs to generate new business and increase market share.
- Collaborate with partner business units to ensure product and system solutions are effective at solving customer challenges.
- Define, track and report on key business objectives and goals to senior leaders. Ensure team and partners are effectively working to exceed these goals and objectives.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Years of Relevant Work Experience.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
- Typically requires three years management and people leadership experience in leading tactical directions for products and/or projects.
- Typically requires a minimum of seven years in an Industrial Automation/Power Control Product Management and/or Engineering role where you have worked closely with Industrial Automation products and technologies including Variable Frequency Drives.
- Masters Preferred in engineering discipline.
- Experience with commercial and technical leadership including strategy development, profit and loss management and customer relationship management.
- Work cross functionally to achieve key business objectives.
- Familiarity with the global Industrial Automation and and/or Variable Frequency Drive market space and trends.
- Variable frequency drive start-up experience.
- Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and related software.
- Experience working in a matrix organization supporting a global portfolio.
