  • UT Health Tyler, the flagship hospital of the system, has 432 licensed beds specializing in advanced acute care medicine. Our hospital includes a 24-hour ER with Level 1 trauma center, a comprehensive stroke center, more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.

Responsibilities

  • The pharmacy technician coordinator assists pharmacists in providing medications for patient care.
  • This is a leadership position, providing leadership, and mentoring to pharmacy technicians.
  • The pharmacy technician coordinator should be proficient in sterile products preparation, possess good communication and customer service skills, have a strong attention to detail, and actively pursue teamwork to accomplish goals.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • High School graduate or GED.
  • 3+ year's previous hospital pharmacy technician experience (inclusive of training programs).
  • Active Registered Pharmacy Technician in good standing with the Board of Pharmacy, if required by state of employment.
  • National Pharmacy Certification (CPhT).
  • BLS within 90 days of hire or transfer date into role.

Preferred Job Requirements

  • Associates/bachelor degree.
  • 6 months personnel leadership experience.
