General Summary

This individual will be responsible for preparing the manufacturing schedules to manage the flow of work through the plant operation. This position will have direct responsibility for issuing work orders to the various manufacturing work centers in conformance with release dates, work center load schedule, and material availability. They will also have responsibility for monitoring deadlines and ensuring work is being completed on time. They will need to work in and promote the QRM (Quick Response Manufacturing) culture throughout the business system. They will also be responsible for checking critical material levels, special items, sub-contract work, order process or other factors essential to production to maintain an uninterrupted flow of work and assurance of shipping commitments. Additional responsibilities include the preparation of orders, issuance of supplementary orders, and expediting, as required, on order changes, cancellations, or rush items. They will need to support specific programs such as quick delivery, stocking, Same Day Shipment (SDS) and other customer focused programs. The position requires collaboration with Materials, Production Supervisors, Inside Sales, and Shipping, with a focus on On Time Delivery objectives.

Education Requirements

This position requires a minimum high school diploma or equivalent plus:

  • Three years manufacturing experience in a scheduling role or equivalent work experience in a related field, or
  • An associate's degree plus 1 year relevant experience.



Also required is a working knowledge of MRP (Epicor experience a plus), Lean Manufacturing or QRM, and the manufacturing process, i.e. flow of work, machine capacity planning, etc.
