The University of Virginia Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering seeks applications for a Senior Finance Generalist within the School of Engineering. The mission of the Civil and Environmental Engineering program centers on responsible stewardship of engineering practices for the built and natural environment that represents the backbone of modern society. Fundamental to this purpose is a sustainable and agile infrastructure, which places the environment at the center of engineering design for the future and is supported by practical engineering solutions to meet today's challenges. This focus modernizes the disciplines of civil and environmental engineering by integrating sustainability and resilience into core practices while leveraging modern computational methods that integrate sensing, simulation, artificial intelligence, and cyber-human collaboration into strategies for new and existing built and naturally engineered systems. The Senior Finance Generalist will be responsible for a variety of professional level work across a composite of administrative service areas including budget, finance, procurement, academic administration, student services, grants and research administration, space and facilities and/or high-level operational support. The successful candidate will be expected to perform a variety of professional and operational duties that facilitate the day-to-day operations of the department.
Strong analytical and communication skills are required. Expectation that the person who joins the team will be highly collaborative, team oriented, and extremely comfortable with change and a fast-paced environment. In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned. Expected salary range is $75k - $85k per year commensurate with education and experience.
