Job Description: * Performs all tasks associated with the filling and dispensing of community prescriptions as permitted by state law including but not limited to: computer order entry, updating patient personal and insurance information, filling and labeling prescriptions, and completing transactions at the point of sale. * Maintains subject matter expertise with insurance claim adjudication, reject resolution, and copay assistance programs. * Performs simple nonsterile compounding per current USP<795> guidelines and as permitted by state law. * Oversees prescription courier and mailing processes. * Completes and oversees Meds to Beds prescription delivery processes for discharge patients. * Ability to prioritize workflow by patient impact and ensure that all assigned tasks are completed at the end of the shift. All identified problems, if they cannot be corrected by the employee, will be reported to the Pharmacist. * Performs all functions and duties with the patient at the center, ensuring prompt and friendly service in the Community Pharmacy. * Maintains professionalism with communication with patients, caregivers, and inter-disciplinary interactions. * Escalates all identified problems or patient complaints, if they cannot be corrected by the employee, to the Pharmacist to ensure timely resolution. Oversees inventory management processes including order review, receiving, restocking, inventory returns, and physical inventory preparation. * Assists with maintaining the Pharmacy department by keeping it clean and in order. * Completes 340B audits as applicable to location. * Completes technician training and competency assessments. * Assists the Community Pharmacy Manager with monthly business reports and maintenance of pharmaceutical contracts. * Attends and contributes to the content of meetings and committees as assigned. Minimum Requirements * High school diploma or equivalency required. * 2 years of job-related work experience. * Registration with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy within 30 days or upon hire as applicable to practice location * Nationally certified as a pharmacy technician. * Must obtain 340B University completion or Apexus certification (as applicable) within 1 year.
