Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Organizational Development, this role is responsible for developing and implementing learning programs, assessing employee needs, and ensuring effective learning outcomes to support goal achievement and employee growth within the University across all locations. Travel will be required to Herzing's various campus locations.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:



  • Bachelor's degree in education, organizational development, human resources, business or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a direct learning and development role required.
  • Minimum one year designing or creating learning content.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, and training methodologies.
  • Attention to detail and document creation, editing, and management required.
  • One to three years managing projects preferred.
  • Three or more years of facilitation preferred.
  • Proficiency with technology including but not limited to:

    • Using learning management systems (LMS) and configuring LMS preferred.
    • Microsoft Office with emphasis on PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
    • SharePoint site creation and maintenance.
    • Intermediate skill using AI technology.


  • Knowledge of sector trends and best practices in learning and development.



COMPENSATION is determined based on the qualifications, experience, and circumstances of each hire. It is uncommon for new employees to start near the top of the salary range. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including a tuition waiver and reimbursement program, health insurance, paid time off, and a retirement savings plan. The salary range for this position is $85,850 to $116,150.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Create and execute learning strategies and programs, align learning to support organization strategic goals.
  • Assess individual and organizational employee development needs, then design through both original and vendor content engaging learning solutions aligned with employee and department requirements.
  • Design and deliver in-person and e-learning courses, workshops and other learning; maintain courses in University Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Implement learning methods system wide (e.g., coaching, job-shadowing, mentoring, in-person/online training).
  • Assess the success of development plans and help employees make the most of learning opportunities.
  • Collaborate with managers to develop their team members through competency building and career pathing.
  • Plan, create, and manage projects including scope and timelines, monitoring activities to meet objectives.
  • Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of learning programs through feedback and performance metrics.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and career development within the organization.
  • Leverage AI-driven tools and technology to enhance learning experiences and improve learning efficiency.
  • Stay current with sector trends, learning methodologies, and technology advancements in learning and development.
  • As with all University faculty and staff, always works with the highest level of ethics and integrity.
  • Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • 30% Travel required.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position most of the time when not facilitating.
  • Must be able to occasionally move around the work location.
  • Constantly operates office equipment which includes computers, copiers, and other audio/visual devices.
  • Occasional travel to deliver in-person workshops based on organizational needs which may not follow a regular schedule. While not routine, travel could include multi-day trips.
  • Frequently uses voice and hearing to communicate with employees through audio devices and face-to-face.
  • Visually or otherwise identify, observe and assess.
  • Occasionally move, carry, or lift 20 pounds.
