Job ID: EQUIP012965 Job Title: Equipment Installer Location: 125 E MIDDLE STREET, WILLIAMSTON, MI 48895 Union: IBEW 1106 - CBA 032 Hiring Manager: Yvonne Newingham # of Openings: 1 Posting Dates: 4/29/25-5/6/25 Wage Range: $21.95 - $39.08 per hour Summary The Equipment Installer installs, rearranges, and removes central office equipment and associated wiring; plans installation jobs; verifies work order information; verifies receipt of all necessary equipment and information; interprets work order information, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics; tests, adjusts and troubleshoots installed equipment. Prepares all necessary reports, and performs other duties as may be assigned. General Duties * Must be able to read, write and perform the following mathematical calculations: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. * Related experience in electrical work or as a Switching Technician or Equipment Installer Helper is a must. * Frequent climbing of ladders up to 15 feet. * Frequently required to lift equipment weighing up to 75 pounds. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: * Wears appropriate safety equipment and follows established safety practices and procedures. * Receives and accounts for all equipment necessary to the job. * Drives or rides to work location. Works inside central offices most of the time; may be required to work at remote locations including outdoors and customer premise. * Erects ironwork inside central offices and other locations utilizing tools, ladders, and assorted hardware. * Mounts equipment to ironwork per engineering. * Lays cable in place on ironwork. * Connects cable to equipment by referring to wire color and equipment diagrams. * Conducts all tests necessary to ensure proper cable connections. * Tests, adjusts, and troubleshoots equipment when necessary, using electrical schematics and various types of test equipment. * Loads database into system and conducts sufficient tests to verify. * Keeps account of equipment received and removed. * Keeps all necessary reports and records. * Heavy lifting may be required in handling tools, materials and supplies. * Required to climb ladders and work in cable racks. * May be required to work day, evening or night tours and overtime, emergency call-outs, weekends and out-of-town assignments as required. * Classroom training and work location may be away from home location. * May be required to work with other departments and customer personnel. * May be required to perform additional duties and tasks as required by the Company. * Will be required to work different shifts as part of company policy for High Risk work Basic Qualifications * Tests- Results obtained in standard tests for this position must meet minimum requirements established by the Company, Frontier Communications does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, religion, sex, national origin, age, marital status, citizenship status, disability, sexual orientation, veteran status or any other protected class.
