What you'll do

As the Director/Sr. Director of Artificial Intelligence, you'll be responsible for defining, building, and executing the company's Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning strategy. Your work will be centered on rapidly building, scaling, and deploying high-impact AI/ML systems and features that drive measurable business outcomes with speed and efficiency.

You will lead a high-performing team of AI/ML engineers in the end-to-end development and operationalization of models, from prototyping through production. Reporting to the CTO and partnering closely with our Senior Director of SRE and cross-functional stakeholders, you'll ensure seamless integration of AI systems into our cloud-based infrastructure and product ecosystem. You'll also champion the adoption of ethical, responsible AI practices at scale.

The ideal candidate is a results-oriented, deeply technical leader with a proven track record in engineering and operationalizing scalable AI/ML solutions. You will collaborate across engineering, product, and business teams to unlock the full potential of AI through engineered intelligence and data-driven innovation.

How you'll do it



  • Define and lead the enterprise AI and ML engineering roadmap, prioritizing initiatives that deliver quick, impactful results aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Stay ahead of emerging trends in Machine Learning, generative AI, and scalable AI infrastructure to guide rapid innovation and experimentation.
  • Build, mentor, and retain a world-class team of AI/ML engineers and researchers focused on rapid iteration and delivery.
  • Foster a culture of agile execution, experimentation, and continuous deployment.
  • Lead the accelerated end-to-end engineering of AI/ML solutions, from rapid feature engineering and model building to swift deployment, operationalization, and continuous monitoring, delivering salable AI-generated features and services every twelve months.
  • Oversee the efficient and reliable operationalization of models in production environments, ensuring performance at scale and minimal time-to-value.
  • Drive rapid development cycles to deliver impactful AI-generated features and services continuously and with urgency.
  • Partner seamlessly with engineering, product, marketing, and business teams to identify opportunities for AI-driven solutions and quickly translate them into technical requirements and deployed systems.
  • Communicate the technical approach, progress, and business impact of deployed AI/ML systems clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, including executives.
  • Establish and enforce best practices for building responsible AI systems, including engineered solutions for explainability, bias mitigation, and ensuring regulatory compliance in deployment.
  • Ensure robust data privacy and ethical use practices are embedded within the AI/ML engineering lifecycle.


QUALIFICATIONS

To qualify for the Director level, you must have

Bachelor's Degree in related field and 8 years relevant experience; or Master's Degree in related field and 6 years relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

To qualify for the Senior Director level, you must have

Bachelor's Degree in related field and 10 years relevant experience; or Master's Degree in related field and 8 years relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

We'd like you to have



  • 10+ years of technical leadership experience across AI and Machine Learning.
  • Proven experience in applied machine learning, model deployment, and scaling distributed systems
  • Expertise in SaaS infrastructure and enterprise-grade systems.
  • Familiarity with civil and infrastructure construction industry platforms.
  • Experience working within a private equity or high-growth tech company.
  • Experience with guiding and elevating employees in the use of AI tools (AI Assistants, etc.)


Technical skills we'd like you to have



  • Deep learning, natural language processing, predictive modeling
  • Data engineering, MLOps, and ML lifecycle automation
  • Cloud-based ML infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Languages: Python, SQL, and modern AI/ML frameworks
  • Responsible AI practices, bias mitigation, and regulatory compliance
