Overview

We are seeking a skilled Data Analyst with strong analytical skills and several years of experience in data science or related fields. The ideal candidate will have experience in advanced data analysis, statistical modeling, and data visualization. This position will support the Chief Data and Analytics Officer (CDAO) within the Defense Health Agency (DHA) to transform complex data into actionable insights, driving informed decision-making processes in healthcare delivery.

Responsibilities

    Collect, process, and analyze large datasets from multiple sources to support healthcare analytics.
  • Develop and maintain data models, reporting systems, dashboards, and performance metrics.
  • Apply advanced statistical techniques and analytics to interpret data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
  • Create data visualizations using tools like Tableau, Power BI, SAS, and Qlik to effectively communicate analytical findings.
  • Manage data quality and ensure the integrity and accuracy of data used in analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, healthcare professionals, and business leaders, to identify data needs and deliver relevant data solutions.
  • Perform data integration and data cleaning using ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
  • Utilize data science languages such as Python, SAS, R to develop algorithms and predictive models.
  • Prepare and present analytic reports that summarize data insights, trends, and recommendations clearly.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field (e.g., Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Healthcare Informatics).
  • At least 5 years of experience in data analysis and the application of information systems.
  • Proficiency with data science languages such as Python, R, or SQL.
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, SAS, and Qlik.
  • Strong technical skills in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize disparate data from multiple sources into actionable insights.
  • Proven ability to communicate analytical discoveries and recommendations clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with simultaneous deadlines.

**Preferred:**

  • Experience in healthcare IT within a defense or federal setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of Defense Health Agency (DHA) programs and initiatives.
  • Familiarity with military health system (MHS) beneficiary population and related analytics.
  • Understanding of Data Management Framework (DMF) and Health Information Exchange (HIE) regulations.
  • Lean Six Sigma training certification.
  • Experience with SQL and other database management systems.

Target salary range: $82,267 - $141,358
