Position Description:

Purpose

Coordinates grant applications, grant budget preparation, reporting, and subcontract preparation and monitoring while maintaining federal and state compliance laws for the Center for Healthy Communities and Research within the Department of Family and Community Medicine. Areas of oversight will include research involving human subjects, other non-financial compliance requirements related to sponsored research, grant development and grant management (including budgets).

Primary Functions

  • Work closely with the Grants and Contracts office, Institutional Review Board, Principal Investigators, and Program Manager as well as related matrix department relationships to ensure accountability, compliance, and accuracy in grant budgets, and grant submissions.
  • Serve as a liaison between faculty, MCW departments, centers and external collaborative constituents regarding the processing of research grants and assist with resolution of regulatory, and pre and post award issues.
  • Organize/coordinate research funding activities and communications including internal and external community partner meetings, site visits, outreach activities, and special events.
  • Conduct or coordinate recruitment and training for program participants, staff.
  • Lead in the administrative organization, development of timeline, analysis of required forms and responses of Request for Application (RFA) and/or proposal call for routine and complex grant mechanisms.
  • Verify grants follow funding source requirements.
  • Develop, implement and maintain comprehensive databases and files related to the grant submissions.
  • Collect, analyze, and disseminate program data. Provide input on program design.
  • Maintain program timeline including tracking deadlines for grant components such as submission deadlines, funding cycles, timelines for annual reports, etc.
  • Identify problems or obstacles in the system/procedures related to administration of the funding proposals/funded proposals and communicate to the appropriate faculty/staff.
  • Coordinate meetings and grant tracking information for large programmatic or multiple PI grant projects.
  • Participate in the development of program resources through literature searches, grant writing support, and review and solicitation of funding and scholarship opportunities.
  • Participate on appropriate committees and in training opportunities relevant to the advancement of the program and the profession.
  • Provide support to the team to facilitate the achievement of the program's goals
