Job Type: Support Staff - Union Bargaining Unit: SSA Regular/Temporary: Regular Hours Per Week: 35 Salary Range: $53,394.17 - $53,394.17 The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Position Summary A technician position is available in the Iketani Lab at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases, the Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center (ADARC), to work on projects on hepatitis B virus biology as well as pandemic preparedness. In addition, the candidate will be expected to help support the Lab and lab members. We are happy to train you on any skills required. See more information about the Lab at iketanilab.com Responsibilities Assists Research Scientists and Principal Investigators (PI) in laboratories Performs virology and molecular biology assays Maintain supplies and oversee the integrity of the equipment Prepare general reagents and stocks Performs other duties as assigned by the Research Scientist and/or Principal Investigator Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent in microbiology, virology, or a related field. Preferred Qualifications Laboratory experience, preferably at least BSL2 Attention to detail and organized Team-oriented with good conversational and interpersonal skills Other Requirements The candidate selected for this position is required to undergo a drug screening test prior to a final offer of employment being made Participation in the medical surveillance program Potential bloodborne pathogen exposure Include CV and contact information for two references with application.
