CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS Assist with capitalization policy interpretation, ensuring GAAP compliance. Independently develop solutions to fixed asset issues by recommending company-wide fixed asset policies/procedural changes, classifications and depreciation processes.
- Understand the Fixed Asset policies and procedures that are in place to ensure the accuracy, reliability and consistency of financial information and transactions.
Drive continuous improvement by performing and assisting the team with transactional lean initiatives with the goal of creating synergies, lowering costs and improving processes.
- Identify standardization and process improvement opportunities.
Reconcile Fixed Assets accounts and prove against the general ledger.
- Review and identify erroneous transactions and adjustments completed outside the FA system.
- Calculate and process journals related to Fixed Assets. Understand the impact of entries, transactions, and reconciliations and react to these insights accordingly.
- Perform monthly account reconciliations and work with management to resolve variances timely to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Develop a positive business relationship with internal customers including Division Engineering, Finance, Risk and Audit.
- Communicate with sites regarding capital project activity and status.
- Support internal customers with the capitalization process and ensure accurate asset classification.
- Assist with Risk Management casualty process related to Fixed Asset disposals.
- Prepare various ad hoc reports as requested by management and field.
- Perform CIP Quarterly control.
Provide input to improve departmental operations
- Recognize inconsistent items and bring to the attention of management as needed.
- Ensure reconciliations are completed timely and work directly with divisions regarding outstanding items.
- Provide support to SBS Fixed Assets team members and to divisional accounting teams with report analysis and accurate financial reporting.
- Support activity related to future acquisitions/integrations.
Complete asset additions, transfers and retirements within the asset module including proper asset classification. Because this role involves access to confidential financial information, the Company has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and to provide similar protections for its clients and potential investments. - Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.

- Excellent attention to detail

- Previous experience with Oracle, Oracle Cloud and OneStream
- Experience in recording financial transactions
