Department:IT Information TechnologyDepartment's Website: The Infrastructure & Research Technology Support Specialist position is responsible for implementing and supporting the needed technology for research and academic support while also supporting critical IT infrastructure for operational needs which includes but is not limited to network equipment maintenance, indoor/outdoor wireless network support, research software support, server support, building security systems, etc. This role supports technologies used by UADA faculty, staff, and students while executing technology strategies that support the institution's mission. This position provides end-user support (e.g., computer technical support, software application support, printer/scanner/copier support) to users on the Fayetteville main campus, the UADA Shult Agricultural Research & Extension Center, Research stations, and the Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station headquarters and surrounding facilities. This position will support special projects related to start-up research projects that further the mission of UADA. This role will also assist with ITS Help Desk coverage, providing general end-user problem resolution for Division and University owned hardware and software. Key Responsibilities: End-User Support: Provide desktop computer, laptop computer, mobile device, and accessory/peripheral support to UADA end-users at all supported locations. This will require some hands-on, in-person support while also requiring some remote support as well. Technology Integration & Management: Oversee the deployment and maintenance of technology infrastructure supporting research and academic activities including classroom technology support. Ensure the integration of new technologies to enhance teaching, learning, and research. Research Support and Innovation: Facilitate faculty and student use of technology in research and academic settings. Promote and support innovative uses of technology in instruction and research. Provide training and support for research software and tools. Assist in the development of data management plans and research data repositories. Collaboration and Communication: Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand their technological needs and provide solutions. Training and Development: Design and deliver training programs for faculty and staff on the use of academic technologies in classrooms, conference rooms, auditoriums, laboratories, etc. Promote best practices in the use of technology for teaching and research. Train key IT personnel on the UADA DITS team to ensure academic and research technologies are supported properly by UADA DITS Helpdesk and Field Operations teams. Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in higher education. This position reports to the UADA Division Information Technology Services Director of Infrastructure & Research/Academic Technologies.
