Position Summary

The Instructional Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the departmental part time faculty hiring, contracting and on boarding process; maintaining syllabi and other course documents; maintaining instructional materials; assisting the programming staff in schedule building and managing enrollment. The Instructional Coordinator also performs technical and administrative functions to support part time faculty, and students at eight off site locations.

Pay dates occur on the 7th and 22nd of each month. If those dates fall on a weekend, the pay date occurs on the Friday prior to the 7th and 22nd. As an employee of the college, you are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package .

In the best interest of the College, only individuals who are residents of Maryland or one of the following states will be eligible for employment at the college: Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia. The college will annually review this restriction and, if appropriate, expand the list of states of employment eligibility.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

COURSE ADMINISTRATION: Ensure a syllabus is published for every class, complete with learning objectives and outcomes. Maintain curricular and instructional documents, course documentation and information to ensure accuracy and accessibility. Assist the programming staff with scheduling building and managing enrollment in the continuing education registration system, Destiny One.

FACULTY ONBOARDING AND ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT: Oversee the process to hire vendors and part time faculty to include advertising interviewing, ensuring hiring paperwork is in order, and communicating with the CEWD Business Services team or the Purchasing Office, as needed.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND SUPPORT: Assist with scheduling, and supporting students and part time faculty at eight community sites. Support off-site recruitment, registration, and student retention initiatives, as needed.

INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPLY MANAGEMENT: Maintain an inventory of instructional resources items. Plan and implement instructional materials distribution, as needed

OTHER DUTIES: As assigned by the Assistant Director, Director, Assistant Dean, or Dean.

Required Qualifications:

Associates degree

Minimum of two years of experience in providing administrative support for classes, programs, or events preferably in a higher education setting

Minimum of two years of experience in providing customer service preferably in a higher education setting.

Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, and virtual meeting platforms such as Teams or Zoom.

Ability to travel throughout the county to provide support for part time faculty and students at off site locations.

Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with students, faculty, administrators, government agencies, community organizations and the general public.

Ability to work flexible hours and locations, including some evenings and weekends.
