LOCATIONS: Sterling, VA

SUMMARY: The Electronic Security Systems (ESS) Specialist is responsible for design, development, test, and installation support of ESS systems. Must be able to read system requirements and produce system diagrams, bills of materials, and other engineering and installation support materials; Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures regarding ESS design and deployment on Government installations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.

  • Develop drawings, schematics, equipment lists, test plans and procedures, assembly procedures, and installation instructions for electronic security systems
  • Assist in the design and installation of ESS systems.
  • Identify and select components based on technical requirements and characteristics
  • Perform engineering calculations and modeling
  • Support the installation and testing of equipment and systems
  • Support the installation of systems in mobile platforms and fixed facilities


NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree (preferred majors: Engineering or Engineering Technology, Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, Computer Science, or related engineering field) and 5 years experience in the design and installation of ESS systems OR 10+ years experience in the design and installation of ESS systems
  • AutoCAD, SolidWorks experience preferred


COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Skill in operating a personal computer and standard office equipment
  • Must have proficiency in a variety of computer software applications in word processing and spreadsheets (MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Programming (python, C, C++) experience preferred


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, CLEARANCE:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret security clearance (U.S. Citizenship)
  • ESS system certifications (Hirsch, Lenel, Genetec, Vindicator) preferred

  • Reasoning Ability - Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to question activities and issues in all functional areas and make sound business decisions based on that data.
