The Department of Teaching and Learning within the College of Education at the University of Iowa is seeking an Adjunct Instructor for the following course taught in the Summer semester of 2025:



  • SIED:4110 Environmental Issues of the Colorado Rockies


This course explores the basic concepts of physical geology, historical, and environmental geology of the Rocky Mountains in context of mineral exploration, mining, and environment; collection of a teaching suite of basic igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks and rock forming minerals; scientific/educational photography, field inquiry, and curriculum development projects; knowledge is tested in the field along with connecting the geology of Colorado with future teaching employment locations.

Job Functions

Instruction and student support for the 4-semester hour course will include the following responsibilities:



  • Leading instruction for the course
  • Providing meeting time for students enrolled in the course
  • Managing the online course system (ICON) for the course
  • Travel to Crested Butte, Colorado.


Education Requirement

Bachelor's Degree in an education-related field.

Qualifications

Must have completed an accredited Teacher Education Program in the United States and held a teaching license in the United States.
