Description
Position Summary: The Educational Coordinator assists the Director of Workforce Development in overseeing adolescent employment programs, including the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) and Work, Learn & Grow. Responsibilities encompass developing work readiness initiatives to support teens in their pursuit of college and career objectives. This includes the creation of internships, job shadowing opportunities, and job development activities both pre- and post-college graduation. Additionally, the Educational Coordinator role involves designing and implementing curriculum and activities for the Youth Employment and learning experience for individuals aged 14 to 19. These activities are meticulously sequenced and infused with opportunities for social, emotional, academic, and workforce development skill acquisition, aligning with the needs and interests of the students. The position also includes mentoring and coaching students throughout the program, regularly reviewing their action plans for project-based learning (PBL), and working diligently to foster a safe and welcoming environment conducive to effective learning.
