Overview

The Director of Special Investigations Unit (SIU) leads our team focused on fraud detection, investigation, and compliance.

*This position requires a hybrid schedule out one of our AmTrust Office*



Responsibilities

People: Sculpt a team that drives excellence. Evaluate existing employees' abilities and capabilities ensuring talent is aligned with business strategies; holds people accountable while strengthening and retaining talent to ensure employees can thrive. Oversight of talent management, performance reviews, process adherence, training, staff development, and performance improvement. Recognize talent encouraging professional growth. Drives development and professional growth through transparent expectation setting and follow-through. Provide professional, timely and courteous communication and service to external clients and cross-departmental staff to successfully resolve issues pertaining to SIU and investigative referrals.

Process: Exercise exceptional process adherence to create consistent investigations yielding impact on the direction of the file. Ensure regulatory compliance while maintaining excellent file quality. Provide guidance on the direction of investigations to ensure consistency and compliance. Collaborates closely with underwriting, audit and claims personnel to evaluate all aspects of a referral and determine an investigative path, and documents investigative plan. Able to identify process improvement to increase impact or efficiency. Perform other functionally related duties as assigned.

Performance: Leverage the use of technology and data to support the strategic vision. Ensure the team of investigators are performing to expectations by regularly evaluating work. Understands and anticipates requirements and takes action to provide high-quality investigative services to exceed expectations. Ability to be a problem solver when issues arise and identify alternative solutions to continue to drive performance and results. Takes ownership of outcomes and results delivered by team. Demonstrates an understanding of the organization and its product/service offerings and leverages organizational values and relationships in ensuring tasks are accomplished.

Qualifications

* An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or a related field from an accredited college or university; or

* 7-10 years of insurance claims investigation experience or professional investigation experience with law enforcement agencies, or

* Seven years of professional investigation experience

* Demonstrated experience with commercial casualty, property, automobile, and workers' compensation insurance products.

* Demonstrated ability to interpret and analyze large amounts of data and make an informed, calculated decisions

* Respect for confidential information

* Excellent organizational, leadership, communication, and time management skills

* Ability to work in fast paced and changing environment, willingness to learn and adjust to achieve business goals while leading others.

* Strong listening and communication skills.
