What you'll do:

  • Meet with production supervisors to review their shifts and production performance each day. Directing subordinates in good, safe work practices; train and direct subordinates.
  • Resolving disciplinary issues and enforcing compliance with all safety, quality, GMP and SQF regulations. Develop the shift through training plans to continuously improve performance efficiency. Monitor and audit procedures and processes to maintain control that will meet goals and objectives on a continuous basis. Review and audit time clock rings and verify TA accuracy.
  • Improve safety performances and programs. Enforce plant safety rules and make safety contacts with hourly employees. Complete all plant safety committee RAIL items in a timely manner in plant and document.
  • Meet with plant engineer to evaluate status of projects and work on better manufacturing methods and continuous improvement/spoilage reduction efforts of materials and equipment.
  • Review maintenance downtime records, autonomous maintenance data and schedule repairs and plan preventative maintenance with Maintenance Department to follow monthly, weekly, and annual PM plan.
  • Review schedules and provide all resources (material and people) needed to meet requirements to run all scheduled lines every shift, crew every day.
  • Meet with the Union to resolve any issues or grievances.
  • Meet in all daily production and improvement meetings to provide critical and timely information for quick and effective decision making.
  • Meet with QA Manager and supervisor daily to resolve immediate issues and review customer complaints. Manage and report on HFI daily from production standpoint and status working with Quality to disposition properly.
  • Run Silgan TEMT and sample product trials and submit samples for evaluation.

What you'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, business administration, supply management, operations research, manufacturing management or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years related experience in plastic processing and or food grade manufacturing
  • Departmental management, ability to communicate with employees at all levels
