DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This role is a specialized position that offers expert engineering consultation to the NPDES Permitting Division within the Department of Environmental Protection's Bureau of Clean Water. The incumbent will deliver high-level technical assistance in the execution of NPDES permit programs as outlined in Chapters 92a and 102. Responsibilities encompass a wide range of activities, including the enforcement of water quality standards for point source discharges, the application of technology-based controls mandated by both state and federal regulations, and the promotion of best management practices aimed at managing stormwater-related discharges effectively. This position is crucial for ensuring compliance with environmental standards and enhancing the overall quality of water resources. Interested in learning more? - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- This position will require travel as needed.
- You will have the option to work from one of the following listed regional or central offices and may also work out of any district office associated with the listed regional or central offices:

- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years as an Environmental Engineer or an Air Quality Engineer (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Five years of professional engineering experience in environmental protection or in environmental project development, design and/or construction.
Special Requirement:
- This position requires the possession of a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.
Condition of Employment:
- This position requires possession of a valid driver's license.
