SUMMARY: The Documentation and Training Intern reports to the Training Manager (JLCCTC) and will assist in creating, editing, and maintaining quality documentation that supports the Joint Land Component Constructive Training Capability (JLCCTC) products. You'll work closely with engineers, product owners, subject matter experts, and a team of technical writers and instructional designers to ensure all documentation and training materials are accurate, clear, and user-friendly. Successful candidates are pursuing degrees, or are recent graduates, in English, Communications, Technical Documentation, Engineering, Computer Science, or Digital Arts; however, a keen interest and willingness to learn is most important. Internship is a 30 hour per week, paid opportunity in our office in Research Park. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Collaborate with technical writing and instructional design team * Work in an Agile environment * Assist in drafting and editing user manuals * Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather information and understand complex concepts * Review and revise existing documentation for clarity, consistency, style, and technical accuracy QUALIFICATIONS: * Currently pursuing, or have recently received, a degree in Technical Communications, English, Engineering, Communications, Computer Science, Digital Arts, or related field, * Strong writing, editing, and communication skills * Microsoft 365 and Adobe Creative Cloud experience is helpful but not required * Knowledge of XML (Arbortext or Oxygen) is helpful but not required WHAT YOU'LL GAIN * Hands-on experience in technical writing and training content creation * Mentorship and guidance from experienced writers and engineers * Exposure to real-world product development and documentation processes JOB CONTEXT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
