Responsibilities

As a Space Systems Engineer - Test with MTSI you will provide Developmental Test and Evaluation (DT&E) expertise and analytical support collaborating on test plans, test objectives, test measures, and evaluation criteria for a developing Space systems. The position is in the Northern California region.

Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:

  • Provide DT&E expertise and analytical support to Space Systems programs developing sound program strategies to inform key program decisions.
  • Review and evaluate both Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMPs) and detailed system-level developmental test plans to ensure adequacy.
  • Evaluate test results, schedules, resources, and technological risks toward program goals.
  • Produce and presentation of key finding and recommendations for program leadership to inform significant program strategies.
  • Develop T&E strategy, TEMP-Development Evaluation Framework, requirement verification and test plans, test objectives, test methodology, and evaluation criteria.
  • Collecting, reviewing, analyzing, and reporting T&E data.
  • Supporting T&E reviews, audits, Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), and Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs) as required.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 6+ years' experience in systems engineering.

  • 5+ years' of relevant work experience in the following areas:

    • Multi-faceted tests and test project teams, to include oversight of scheduling.
    • DoD and commercial SATCOM and network engineering.

    • Military space systems and protected MILSATCOM systems.

    • Ground systems, such as terminals and networks.

  • 3+ years' of experience with Military space systems and protected MILSATCOM systems.
  • Test and evaluation experience with DoD/USAF test processes and documentation.
  • Experience handling Communications Security (COMSEC) materials and devices.
  • Experience must be in the DoD acquisition process, Space Defense Systems acquisition programs, test and evaluation, systems analysis, related discipline, and/or military/DoD civilian areas.
  • Subject matter expert in test and evaluation of DoD Space System programs, and T&E policy.
  • Experience with GPS acquisition program/T&E experience desired.

Minimum Educational Requirements:

  • Bachlors degree in Engineering, Sciences, Math or related filed of study.
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Sciences, Math or related filed of study. (DESIRED)

Clearance Requirements:

  • TS SCI
