Description MaineHealth Medical Group, Northern New England's largest medical group, is seeking an experienced and collaborative leader for its Senior Director of Ambulatory Access. This inaugural leadership role will create a vision for the future of ambulatory patient access across the MaineHealth Medical Group enterprise, leading and driving change in people, technology and processes to bring efficiency and improved metrics in throughput, capacity management, schedule infrastructure and patient experience. MaineHealth Medical Group unifies all 2,600+ MaineHealth providers at system hospitals and across more than 230 specialty and primary care practices in Maine and New Hampshire. - Develops, implements and administers a comprehensive business strategy for medical group capacity management and scheduling. Monitors progress of goal attainment with a strong focus on access to care, patient experience, financial stewardship and provider and care team engagement.
- Embraces technology as a vehicle for improving efficiency and enhancing patient and care team experience.
- Builds a diverse and highly skilled team of directors, managers and specialists to support the access goals of MaineHealth Medical Group and provide a seamless experience for patients as they navigate the system of care.
- Collaborates with practice leaders in the design, implementation and optimization of access related tools, technology and workflows.
- Partners with MaineHealth Medical Group data analysts to develop reporting for monitoring performance and adherence to template and scheduling standards and guidelines.
- Promotes shared accountability between practice leaders and access team by maintaining strong working relationships, transparent data sharing and collaborative problem-solving.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Graduate degree in related field (MBA, MHA, or RN).
- 8-10 years of progressive senior administrative leadership experience in medical group operations.
- Experience working in areas of ambulatory access and scheduling call centers within a large healthcare system preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; experience in working and collaborating closely with senior management and medical leadership.
- Demonstrated management and collaboration skills, with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses and the broader multidisciplinary team.
- Proven experience successfully implementing and leading change and building relationships and trust across the continuum in a matrixed healthcare system.
- Demonstrated strong financial and resource management skills and a thorough understanding of the business side of healthcare delivery.
