Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:




  • A 4-year college degree
  • or three years prior work experience with individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities and physical disabilities in a similar setting is required
  • or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • A current and valid Pennsylvania driver's license is required.

This is a professional supervisory position whereby the employee is responsible for first-line supervision of subordinate Residential Services staff on the 2nd shift. This position reports to the Residential Services Director.

Earn up to $21.25/hr with the selection of enhances pay

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:



  • Develops effective work schedules for subordinate staff in coordination with the Residential Services Director.
  • Advises the Residential Services Director on the need for new and/or revised policies and sees that all policies of AVS are implemented.
  • Makes frequent inspections of all residential units.
  • Maintains all records pertinent to their area of responsibility.
  • Insures that cleaning supplies and personal hygiene supplies are stocked in sufficient quantity in the residential area.
  • Assists staff with residents' maladaptive behaviors and acts as Authorized Person as needed in behavior situations.
  • Works with staff to insure the effective operation of the residential units.
  • Conducts and attends in-service programs as required.
  • Directs, coordinates and evaluates performance of staff to assure adherence to the agency's policies and procedures.
  • Works closely with other departments to insure the safety and well being of the residents and staff.
  • Monitors all documentation required of the direct care staff; i.e., goal plans, behavior management plans, health care plans, etc.
  • Prepares and submits to the Residential Services Director, recommendations relative to all matters requiring action and placing before the Residential Services Director such necessary and helpful facts, information and reports as are needed to insure the making of informed decisions.
  • Informs and advises the Residential Services Director about the activities, practices and problems of the residential units.
  • Holds meetings as necessary for the discussion of matters concerning the improvement and welfare of the individuals and the residential units.
  • Delegates, at own discretion, to other employees, the exercise of any powers or the discharge of any duties with the knowledge that the delegation of power and duty does not relieve the incumbent of final responsibility for the action taken under such delegation.
  • Makes recommendations with reference to improvements, alterations and changes in the residential units.
  • Conducts fire drills and assists in monitoring of emergency equipment.
