Job Description

The Production Manager plays a key leadership role in overseeing the daily manufacturing operations for composite aircraft engine parts using advanced 3D weaving and resin transfer molding (RTM) technology. This hands-on position is responsible for meeting production targets, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency across all shifts. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong team leadership and an ability to manage people, processes, and product flow to meet business goals.

Product



  • Set the pace and ensure daily/weekly/monthly production goals are met.
  • Monitor raw material usage, quality standards, and productivity; investigate performance variances and drive corrective action.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on cost reduction, efficiency gains, and lean initiatives.


People



  • Lead day-to-day production activities and personnel across shifts.
  • Ensure adequate staffing, certification, training, and access to tools and equipment.
  • Partner with HR and other departments on performance coaching, resource planning, and employee engagement.


Process



  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Implement visual management tools and key performance indicators (KPIs) on the production floor.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence

Education & Certification



  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Engineering, Business, Industrial Management, or a related field.
  • Equivalent experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.


Experience & Specialized Knowledge



  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant manufacturing experience required.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory or management experience in a production setting preferred.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations, SPC, and ERP systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of Lean tools including 5S/6S, Visual Factory, OEE, Kaizen, and VSM.
  • Experience working in AS9100 or ISO9001 certified environments strongly preferred.


Skills & Abilities



  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Comfortable in a hands-on role and able to work cross-functionally.
  • Flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities and business needs.
  • Able to manage confidential information with integrity.


Working Conditions:

Indoor production environment, duties performed indoors, adequate lighting and comfortable temperatures. Occasional exposure to moderate noise and machinery with mechanical moving parts. Ability to work 24/7 schedule and be available as business situations required, Travel may be required.

Physical Requirements:



  • Occasionally positions self to move an office item >10 lbs.
  • Frequently move about the production floor and office area to attend meetings or trainings
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 75% of the time
  • Frequently operates a computer, enters data into systems, verifies information, etc..
