Assistant Controller - Portsmouth, NH

Responsibilities & Key Areas

• Manages external reporting efforts to the SEC, including Forms10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K
• Direct the corporate accounting and financial reporting team
• Drive process improvement in the accounting close and reporting processes
• Liaise with the tax department for accounting for income taxes
• Drive application of both new and existing accounting standards
• Communicate to senior and executive management on accounting policy and internal control matters
• Central point of contact with external and internal auditors for integrated and operational audits
• Lead Disclosure Committee, which meets quarterly with Executive Leadership team to discuss developments in accounting, finance and legal
• Subject matter expert on interpretation and implementation of all current, new and evolving U.S. GAAP accounting issues applicable to Albany International Corp.
• Assist management in other corporate areas such as investor relations, treasury, acquisition due diligence and purchase accounting
• Develop and mentor staff

Preferred Experience/Characteristics/ Competencies & Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics required
• CPA preferred
• Minimum 10 years combined accounting experience in a global manufacturing company and a public accounting firm
• Experience leading the preparation of Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K
• In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting
• Experience working with a global SAP ERP system
• Experience working for global publicly traded companies
• Strong communication skills and ability to present to Executive leadership
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop succession candidates
• Motivated, self-starter who relishes the opportunity to create and build

• Experience working with consolidation applications such as BI
