*Description*
Position Summary: Responsible for timely and accurate follow-up on high volume workload of self-pay accounts for a multi-specialty physician billing office. Respond to a minimum of 22/32 tasks per day or an equivalent work assignment plus other daily duties as assigned. Meets or exceeds minimum expected work quality and quantity metrics as defined by department leadership. Job Description: On-Site Shift: Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm (First day will start at 9:00am) * Understands Patient Accounts/Customer Service process including HIPAA policy regarding patient confidentiality guidelines. * Communicates effectively with patients/public, co-workers, physicians and or their offices, and other office personnel using verbal, nonverbal and written communication skills. * Handles inbound telephone inquiries regarding patient accounts in compliance with the CMG policies. *Interprets and explains charges, services, payment resolution, financial application guidelines, and office policy regarding payment of their bills. *Knowledge of bankruptcy law and guidelines. *Review outstanding self-pay accounts for collection efforts and adheres to the CMG private pay collections policy. *Ability to work effectively with extended business office patient accounts. *Assist with inbound telephone calls and route accordingly. *Utilize online banking application to post patient credit card phone payments. *Negotiate payment arrangements on past due balances. *Receive and record changes in patient information. *Demonstrates promptness in reporting for and completing work-ensuring follow-through on assigned tasks. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
