Description

Acara Solution is looking for a Senior Advanced Analog Electrical Engineer for our client located in West Valley City, UT.

Candidates must be able to obtain a U.S. Citizen Secret clearance after starting if one does not already hold one.
  • As a Senior Advanced Analog Electrical Engineer for the Progeny Systems Business Area, you'll be a member of or lead a cross-functional team dedicated to developing military-grade electronics and underwater acoustic systems.
  • Analyze and design analog circuits, including signal conditioning, power, transformers, inductors, and amplifiers.
  • Integrate, test, troubleshoot, and verify electrical hardware.
  • Develop test criteria and assist in the design of test systems.
  • Perform component and architecture trade studies to determine optimal system solutions.
  • Develop technical presentations, recommendations, and written communications to explain technical issues to program management and the Navy customer.
  • Generate design and interface documentation.
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Science or Engineering or Mathematics.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in engineering development life cycle, including concept, requirements, design, implementation, and test phases.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in analog circuit design, including signal integrity principles.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in the following battery systems, electric motors, MATLAB programming, solder rework of prototype circuit card assemblies, and underwater acoustic principles.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree.
  • Working knowledge of op-amps and transistors, including Bipolar, JFETs, and MOSFETs.
  • Familiarity with low-noise preamplifiers.
  • Working knowledge of transformers and inductors, and how to size them, including key parameters such as flux density, magnetizing current, leakage inductance, transformer and inductor losses, and temperature rise.
  • Familiarity with active filter design and PLL design
  • Proficiency in all phases of PCB design, including creation of high-level functional and architectural diagrams, SPICE analysis, power analysis, component selection, schematic entry (OrCAD Capture experience), and working with the PCB layout team to optimize placement, signal integrity, and fitment.
  • Good documentation and communication skills.
