Here's what you'd do:

  • Maintenance Electricians are responsible for preventive maintenance of equipment.
  • They periodically inspect equipment, locate and correct problems before breakdowns occur.
  • Electricians must follow the National Electrical Code and comply with State and local building codes.
  • Reporting relationships, work assignments, and work schedules may be subject to change to meet company needs and business requirements.
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair and to ensure compliance with codes.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
  • Advise leads/management on whether continued equipment operation could be hazardous.
  • Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit, and moving and lifting heavy objects.
  • Follow Job Safety Analysis and Lockout/Tagout procedure.
  • Implement OSHA standards in work culture to achieve zero recordable injury at all times.
  • Inspect the plant and always maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities according to the organization's policy and applicable laws.
  • Supervisory responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Does not carry any direct supervisory responsibilities.
  • Maintains electrical equipment to meet national, state, and federal regulatory codes.
  • Performs rigging activities, safety-related functions, and other miscellaneous electrical functions.
  • Performs installation and maintenance work as part of a team of skilled trade workers.
  • Treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position.
  • Is consistently at work and on time.
  • Follows instructions and responds to management direction professionally and promptly.
  • Other duties may also be assigned.

Here's what you'll get:

Pay: $22.65 - $26.00/hr.

Hours: 40 hours/week.

Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience testing electrical systems and circuit continuity in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters and voltmeters, to ensure compatibility and safety of the system.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Able to read blueprints, which indicate the locations of circuits, outlets, load centers, panel boards, and other equipment.
  • Able to assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures.
  • Demonstrates safe and proficient use of shop tools (both hand and power). Demonstrates mechanical knowledge.
  • Must possess demonstrated ability to utilize a forklift and high lift safely.
  • Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot PLCs.
  • Self-starter yet able to follow instructions as directed.
  • Able to listen effectively and get clarification.
  • Able to read and interpret written information.
  • Able to use equipment and materials properly at all times.
  • Must be able to read and understand European electrical drawings.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot various AC drives and PLCs.
  • Must demonstrate troubleshooting methods on electro-mechanical devices.
  • The cause of short circuits in control/power circuits and AC motor failures must be determined.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of the Profi-bus and ProfiNet networking systems.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to wire 2/3 wire proximity sensors to the PLC or remote I/O.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the electrical drawing and documentation.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from engineers, supervisors, and co-workers.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, plane and solid geometry fundamentals, and trigonometry.
  • Applying fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
  • The working environment varies, depending on the type of job.
  • Sometimes required to work in dusty, dirty, hot, or wet conditions, confined areas, ditches, or other uncomfortable places.
  • Electricians risk injury from electrical shock, falls, and cuts; to avoid injuries, they must always follow strict safety procedures.
