This role is responsible for the overall development and management of injection molding processes at Rieke Packaging. The position will utilize scientific molding principles to establish and validate new product molding processes and manufacturing cells. Additionally, it ensures that all existing processes are continuously monitored and audited for compliance and sustained performance. This position requires
leadership skills to work closely with customers, process techs, internal
tooling, quality and production
team.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform, document and direct
    all process development activity using scientific molding tools.
  • Document all process related
    validation protocol requirements
  • Perform regular process audits
    to ensure manufacturing compliance.
  • Perform as technical liaison to
    customers on all related process related activity.
  • Daily monitoring of IQMS
    real-time actual verses standard and audit all processes not running to
    standard.
  • Capable of running all aspects
    of the molding and auxiliary equipment.
  • Full understanding of decoupled
    molding and ensure that process techs adhere to decoupled principles.
  • Leadership support in trouble
    shooting/ debugging new programs.
  • Adherence to ISO procedures.
  • Lead process tech team in
    developing tooling work orders for mold repairs and PM's.
  • Utilized continuous
    improvement, lean and six sigma tools to reach OEE standards.
  • Coach and mentor and train
    process technicians.

Qualifications

  • College degree Plastics Engineering or applicable field with at least 5 years of experience in injection molding tooling design and process.
  • Experience in ISO environment is desirable
  • Have a basic understanding of automation
  • Driven, self-motivated
  • Change agent, bias for action, with a positive attitude
  • Organized and able to bring projects to a successful conclusion
  • Strong communication & presentation skills
  • Strong problem solving and lean manufacturing skills
  • Process & results driven
  • Innovative, inspiring, and able to work in a consultative relationship throughout the organization
  • Formal scientific Six Sigma, Lean, and leadership strongly desired molding training is highly desired
  • Formal Education in Six Sigma, Lean, and leadership highly desired
