The Administrative Director for Postgraduate Educationfor theDepartment of Surgery and Cardiothoracic and Vascular will direct and manage all administrative activities with the Department office for the entire Surgery and Cardiothoracic & Vascular house staff roster. They will supervise, coordinate all house staff affairs which includes but is not limited to supervision of all program coordinator staff, as well as proper documentation, credentialing, payroll and billings for all house officers and fellows. They will coordinate and supervise Minimally Invasive simulation lab. In addition, the Director for Postgraduate Education will manage the development and maintenance of the cross-campus database for house staff location for GME and IME purposes. They will act as the liaison between the Departments and the House Staff Office as well as the Office of the VP of Graduate Medical Education. Supervision of 5 coordinators and oversight of almost 100 house staff. They will works with multiple program directors. Responsibilitiesinclude but not limited to -Supervises the house staff recruitment process for all PGY levels including Visa status assurances, statistics, interviewing, ranking, setups, schedules and finances for the residency program. -Directs and manages the preparation and submission of all house staff data for the National Residency Matching Program -Recruit, hire, fire and supervise the activities of all program and education coordinators -Manage and coordinate the credentialing of the Housestaff/fellows for the Departments of Surgery and Cardiothoracic & Vascular Training Program at all sites. -Organizes, plans, directs, and implements administrative policies and procedures for the House staff as reviewed by the Program Director to ensure compliance with Medical --Center and regulatory standards. -Attends regularly institutional GME meetings and serves on standing and/or ad-hoc committees pertaining to the GME activities of the program. -With the chief residents, coordinates and supervises the completion and timely and accurate entry of all House staff schedules, including monthly rotation, night and weekend call into the residency data management system -Supervises and arranges for all House staff to sign contracts prior to beginning their academic training. -Assures that all CCC/PE committee meetings are scheduled for each training program and minutes and attendance sheets for each meeting are documented -With the Program Director, advises and prepares cost and charges information related to the Residency Program to ensure proper funding. Requirements Bachelor's Degree required Five years experiencein Graduate Medical Educationrequired.
